Golden Cariboo Honey has been based out of Lillooet since 1952. Started by John and Peggy Chandler of England, then Ashcroft, Golden Cariboo Honey is now operated by their great-grandson, Mischa Chandler. They have a pretty amazing story, check them out!
A raw and unpasteurized honey, Golden Cariboo beekeepers focus their efforts on the health of their hives, raising their own queens and cultivating their own alfalfa and clover. This rich raw honey is a combination of all the floral sources in their area: afalfa, clover, fireweed, dandelion, thistle and many more. Their hives forage on some of the driest land in the country, so their honey always has a particularly low moisture content, making it extra thick. Because they are secluded in the mountains you can be sure their honey is free of any pesticides or chemicals used in industrial agriculture. That's a big deal!
It's also 100% honey. No other stuff mixed in.
They also raise and sell their queens and nuc colonies for the hobbiest or commercial beekeeper, as well as candles and wax.
They are dedicated sustainable beekeepers, and we're delighted to share their products!
