Imagine the look on your family's face after you reach into your oven and pull out a tray of fresh, golden brown, sourdough scones.  A sourdough scone is what happens when a biscuit decides to get a little fancy without fully committing to cake. Golden on the outside, tender and moist on the inside from the sourdough magic, and just the right amount of crumbly. Each bite offers a buttery richness that pairs beautifully with jam, cream, butter or the bold decision to eat it plain.

Details: Comes in a package with as many scones as you order as frozen baked sourdough scones.

Ingredients: Organic White flour, sourdough starter, organic cane sugar, himalayan sea salt, baking powder, baking soda, organic plain yogurt, milk, butter, semi-sweet chocolate chip, Shannon’s family grown organic rhubarb (picked by her boys).

Happy baking-enjoy!

Birch Bark Bakery is a small micro-bakery nestled in Beaver Valley in Cariboo, BC. The Bakery was created by Shannon who has a passion for delicious artisan food. In particular sourdough baking. Shannon has spent years crafting bread the old-fashioned way—no yeast, no shortcuts, no gimmicks. Just honest sourdough magic doing its slow, bubbly thing. She also has been creating and perfecting delicious sourdough baked goods to add to her menu at the local farmers markets.

Every loaf and baked good she bakes is naturally raised (just like her three boys), using organic flour, locally grown whole grains that are milled fresh and locally grown fruit and vegetables in her family garden. At Birch Bark Bakery, everything is made by hand, with care, patience, and a light dusting of flour on our noses. The whole family helps Shannon both with preparation, packing for the markets and selling her sourdough goods. Her family are big believers that traditional sourdough isn’t just tastier—it’s healthier, heartier, and better for body and soul.
You’ll find us at the local farmers markets, sharing fresh sourdough loaves, goodies and good conversation. Our sourdough menu includes a variety of breads, scones, cinnamon buns and croissants offering different items each week.
